Youth Education
TU and Colorado Trout Unlimited Developed and Promotes a Set of Young Adult / Youth Engagement, Stream Focused, Education Programs. Boulder Flycasters supports the following parts of that program offering through direct funding and volunteer participation
- River Conservation and Fly-Fishing Camp for teens 14-18 – BFC funds 1 to 2 scholarships for camp attendees each year
- Stream Girls, Stream Explorers, Stream Keepers – BFC participates in the programs, and recruits volunteers that lead and support the STREAM program activities
- Trout in the Classroom – BFC works with local middle and high schools’ science teachers to bring this program into their classrooms. BFC currently is funding the equipment and supporting 5 classrooms across 3 schools. We plan to add two more classrooms / schools in 2024
- TU’s 5 Rivers College Clubs – The University of Colorado Boulder Fishing Club is a member of this TU program. Members of the CU club board attend our meetings and we look for ways to cross sponsor programs and activities
