Board meetings are usually held the last Wednesday of the month from September to April, at Otak Inc, 371 Centennial Pkwy #210, Louisville, CO at 6:00 PM. All BFC members are invited. All meetings are open and your attendance is encouraged. Contact any Board member to verify meeting time and location.
I am a lifelong angler based here in Boulder. When I’m not busy chasing fish in local waterways, I work in the stream restoration field as a water resources engineer. I also practice underwater photography and am on a mission to photograph every trout species in Colorado in their natural habitat. I find joy in all opportunities to combine my work and hobbies in furtherance of cold water conservation.
My name is Alex – I’m a water quality professional dedicated to source water monitoring and protection. Before moving to Colorado, I worked in coldwater fisheries management in Wisconsin’s beautiful Driftless Area. I find passion working in the intersection of the resource and resource users, hoping to achieve a sustainable balance between the two. I also serve on the board of directors for the Colorado Lake and Reservoir Management Association – I love all things water and enjoy sharing that enthusiasm with others. During the workday and after it has concluded, you will likely find me in the watershed!

It’s hard to tell in the photo, but that’s a giant trout. Probably 24 inches. Anyway, I grew up fishing with friends around Boulder and got really into fly fishing as a PhD student in my 20s in Tennessee. I moved back to Colorado in 2020 and have spent a ton of time fishing South Boulder Creek from 36 on the plains to Eldo, through Walker, Gross Res, and the headwaters and lakes at East Portal. Now, I most often frequent the St. Vrain and am really excited about fishing alpine lakes. I’m happy to join the Flycasters Board and get more involved in their ongoing projects and outreach.
