Youth and Young Adult Education
TU and Colorado Trout Unlimited Developed and Promotes a Set of Young Adult / Youth Engagement, Stream Focused, Education Programs. Boulder Flycasters supports the following parts of that program offering through direct funding and volunteer participation
Trout in the Classroom –BFC works with local middle and high schools science teachers to bring this program into their classrooms. BFC currently is funding the equipment and supporting 6 classrooms across 5 schools. This year BFC is also sponsoring a Trout In the Classroom program at the Getches-Wilkinson Center for Natural Resources, Energy, and the Environment, University of Colorado Law School. This brings the total number of programs BFC is supporting in the 2026/27 school year to 7.
Stream Girls and Keepers – BFC members volunteer and act as guides and counselors for these programs
TU’s 5 Rivers College Clubs – The University of Colorado Boulder Fly Fishing Club is a member of this TU program. Members of the CU club board attend our meetings and we look for ways to cross sponsor programs and activities
