November Chapter Meeting: Greenback Recovery in RMNP
November 1 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Chris Kennedy, Fish Biologist with US Fish and Wildlife will join us to discuss greenback cutthroat recovery efforts in Rocky Mountain National Park.
The greenback cutthroat trout is native to the waters of the South Platte River drainage including the east side of Rocky Mountain National Park. The greenback was thought to be extinct in the 1930s, but there is currently one self-sustaining population and it listed as a threatened species under the Endangered Species Act. Chris will speak about the recovery efforts for greenbacks, past and present, within RMNP and throughout Colorado.
