ANNUAL BOULDER FLYCASTERS PICNIC - Boulder Elks Club

Image Join us for our annual Picnic! We’ll be staging our usual
Barbecue feast put on by the “BFC Master Cooks”! A small group of talented
chefs that will dazzle you with an array of tantalizing
plated entrees that would make you drool just thinking about them.
Be prepared to taste
far out recipes like our “New Zealand Mud Snail in Cream Sauce” served with deep fried golden grubs or the
tantalizing “Carp Under Glass”, a Bob Bush specialty that he serves
on all his guided trips.
You don’t want to miss this opportunity to
put on a couple pounds in an evening of feeding frenzy not unlike
the Mother’s Day Hatch on the Arkansas!!!
Actually, we'll be getting food from a local Barbecue Bistro so you won't be poisoned!! Be there or be Square!

Boulder Flycaster's Board Members 2006 by Bob Bush, BFC Vice President

Image For those of you who'd like to contact the Board of Directors for our club, and members who simply want to give them some grief! Here's a list of the 2006 board. Since I'm one of them, I'd start at the top when complaining about anything.

Being the Vice President has its advantages as "no one" really cares who's Vice President, right?? But the President, well, that's another story!!

The National Championship Event is starting June 1st through 4th, Don't miss it!

Image That's right, The U.S. Team's National Championships and Conservation Symposium is still looking for volunteers to help with a number of jobs throughout the four days of the "Event"!
Next week, CTU will be hosting the National Fly Fishing Championships and Conservation Symposium, and I wanted to take this opportunity to invite you to participate in two special events. On June 1, at the Millennium Harvest House Hotel in Boulder, CTU will be hosting the Conservation Symposium. At the symposium you'll have the opportunity to see exhibits from a variety of conservation groups, fishing businesses and government agencies where you can learn more about fishing and conservation. The event will also feature speakers from the University of Colorado, EPA, Division of Wildlife, Team USA and others. Exhibits open at 2 pm, and presentations begin at 3 pm. A barbeque will take place from 5 to 8 pm. This is a great opportunity to meet and interact with leaders in the realm of flyfishing and conservation!

On Sunday evening, June 4, the Championships will conclude with an awards banquet at the Millennium Harvest House Hotel in Boulder. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., with the buffet dinner and program beginning at 5:45 p.m. In addition to the delicious buffet dinner, the evening will feature a silent auction, three outstanding guest speakers – Walter Ungermann (Chairman, Team USA), Gordon Wickstrom (local author and flyfishing historian), and Jack Dennis (legendary guide and coach, Team USA), and will culminate with the presentation of individual and team medals from the Championships and the naming of the new members of Team USA who will represent our country at the World Championships this summer. Tickets for this special evening are $40.

You can purchase your tickets for the banquet securely at our website:

Or call David Nickum at 303-440-2937 x12 to reserve your space.

Image Save The Date, BFC July Trip by Al Permut (BFC Board Member)

BFC Schedules July Fishing Trip

While we are locked in the grips of warm and windy winter months,
it's time to start planning fishing outings for the BFC members, guests
and anyone interested in joining a bunch of half crazy fishing nuts.
I've received some feedback that more people would participate if we
gave better advanced notice for our trips, and if the trips were simple
1 day affairs close to home. I would like to encourage folks of all skill
levels to join us. To read more about the trips available,

Carp Capers, Brought to you by Al Permut & ERA Tradewind Real Estate

Image Catch carp on a dry fly! This is no joke and I’m not talking about Cottonwood cotton seeds. These carp really eat bugs and can be caught on dry fly imitations.

Brought to you by BFC member, Al Permut and ERA Tradewind Real Estate.

Noon to Five Fly Shop

Image Wally Allen's Ligas, Noon to Five Fly Shop is now opened at their new location at 2709 Spruce Street in Boulder.

Our forte is trout flies. Our flies are priced at $1.10 and come from the same factories that supply a lot of the Front Range fly shops. Because of the volume we do in fly sales we are direct to the factories and bypass the fly wholesalers and sales representatives.
